Rhonda Phillips

Estes-Sirgy About the Authors PhillipsRhonda Phillips is Dean, Honors College, Purdue University in Indiana. She holds a PhD in city and regional planning; an MS in economics, Georgia Institute of Technology; and an MS in economic development, University of Southern Mississippi. Rhonda is committed to interdisciplinary learning experiences, combining teaching, research, and engagement opportunities. Her research focus includes community planning and development, and indicator and evaluation systems for monitoring progress towards community well-being, quality of life, and economic development revitalization goals. Rhonda is a two-time Fulbright recipient and was awarded the 2012 International Society for Quality-of-Life Studies’ Distinguished Research Fellow. She is author or editor of 18 books, including Introduction to Community Development, and serves as editor for the series, Community Development Research and Practice (Routledge) and Community Quality of Life and Well-being (Springer). She holds professional certification, AICP, from the American Institute of Certified Planners and has held faculty positions at Arizona State University and the University of Florida.
